19B PROJECTS — CASTING GUIDE

WELCOME TO THE PROCESS

Casting for 19B PROJECTS is different. We're not looking for the most polished actors—we're looking for the most authentic ones. Our films demand vulnerability, bravery, and a willingness to explore uncomfortable truths. If you're reading this, you're already showing the kind of initiative we respect.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The 19B Actor Profile:

  • Bravery: Can you handle material that makes most people uncomfortable?
  • Screen Presence: Do you command attention in long dialogue scenes?
  • Authenticity: Can you live inside a character who doesn't have all the answers?
  • Commitment: Are you down to build something outside the mainstream?
  • Vulnerability: Can you access raw, unfiltered emotions?
  • Intelligence: Do you understand the deeper themes we're exploring?
THE CASTING PROCESS
1

Submit Your Materials

Fill out the submission form for your chosen production. Include your headshot, resume, and any relevant links (reel, social media, etc.). Be honest about your experience level—we value authenticity over polish.

2

Initial Review

Our casting team reviews all submissions within 1-2 weeks. We're looking for that special something—energy, presence, and the right vibe for our specific project.

3

Sides & Self-Tape

If we're interested, you'll receive sides (scenes) to prepare. We prefer self-tapes over in-person auditions initially. Keep it simple—good lighting, clear audio, minimal background.

4

Callback/Meeting

Strong self-tapes may lead to a callback or meeting with the director. This is where we really get to know you and see if there's a creative connection.

5

Offer & Contract

If we decide to cast you, you'll receive a formal offer with contract details, shooting schedule, and compensation information.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The Reality Check:

  • Intense Material: Our films deal with dark themes—violence, trauma, complex relationships
  • Long Takes: We shoot extended dialogue scenes that require stamina and focus
  • Emotional Investment: You'll need to access deep, sometimes painful emotions
  • Collaborative Process: We work closely with actors to develop characters
  • No Traditional Distribution: These films won't be on Netflix or in mainstream theaters
  • Artistic Freedom: You'll have creative input and room to experiment
PREPARATION TIPS

Study Our Work

If possible, watch our previous films to understand our style and approach. We're not looking for imitations, but understanding our aesthetic helps.

Know Your Limits

Be honest about what you're comfortable with. We respect boundaries and work within them. Don't push yourself beyond what feels right.

Prepare for Long Scenes

Practice monologues and extended dialogue. Our scenes often run 5-10 minutes without cuts, requiring sustained emotional energy.

Embrace Imperfection

We want real, raw performances, not polished perfection. Don't over-rehearse—let the moment guide you.

Ask Questions

If you're unsure about anything, ask. We appreciate actors who want to understand the material and their role deeply.
