LIBRA:OPEN
A 25-year-old African American. With raw charisma and a survivalist edge. She struggles with desperation: unemployed, near-homeless, willing to tolerate psychological games. She possesses a free spirit and a genuinely charismatic nature about herself. She uses humor and deflection to mask vulnerability, but slowly cracks under Sapphire's control. She's both a victim and a villain. Actors must be comfortable with: comedic and dramatic scenarios, nudity, sexual situations and tension.
SAPPHIRE:OPEN
A 28-year-old African American. A perfect presenting well off tech prodigy with icy precision and simmering rage. She weaponizes wealth and intellect to dominate Libra, blurring lines between revenge and seduction. She is both pathologically controlling, yet bizarrely intimate. Sapphire is a mean girl… Deeply wounded, broken, and completely unhinged. Yet and still, you can't help but find yourself rooting for her. Actors must be comfortable with: comedic and dramatic scenarios, nudity, sexual situations and tension.
SHARON:OPEN
Mid 20s. African American. Libra's best friend, a mid-20s Black woman with blunt pragmatism. Calls out Libra's denial but refuses to rescue her. Downplays Libra's dire situation because she believes Libra deserves everything that comes her way. The good, the bad, and most definitely the ugly. Actors must be comfortable improving and adjusting dialogue on the fly. Day player.
LAMONT:OPEN
Mid 20s. African American. Libra's never there, not present boyfriend. A military soldier who is helpless in this relationship. He wants to physically help Libra, but he's long distance and she's a pathological liar. Between learning who his girlfriend is and her playing stupid in an outrageous situation. Lamont, must come to grips; if Libra is or isn't worth the trouble. Actors must be comfortable improving and adjusting dialogue on the fly. Day player.
